Linen

Linen for short lets: hire, or buy your own?

What a short-let linen set includes, how many you need, and what hire and laundry costs per bed (from £11), compared with buying and washing your own.

Fresh linen is what guests notice first and complain about most. There are two ways to do it: own the linen and have it washed, or hire it laundered with each turnover.

What a set includes

Per bed: a fitted or flat sheet, a duvet cover and pillowcases, plus two bath towels, two hand towels and a bath mat.

Owning your own

  • You need more than one set per bed, so one can be on the bed while another is being washed, and spares for stains.
  • Someone has to wash, dry, press and store it, and replace sets as they wear.
  • Back-to-back stays leave no time to wash in the property.

Hiring with each turnover

  • Fresh, laundered sets arrive with the cleaner and the used ones leave with them.
  • Nothing to buy, wash or store, and no running short on busy weekends.
  • With Lock & Clean: single beds £11, doubles £13.50 and kings £15 per turnover (€11, €13.50 and €15 in Dublin).
